A Consultant Psychiatrist and Psychotherapist, Dr Vera Camacho sees adults and older people using an individualised approach based on scientific evidence, active listening and a trusting therapeutic relationship. Her aim is to understand each person’s individual circumstances and promote wellbeing, autonomy and quality of life.

Specialist title in Psychiatry and Psychotherapy awarded by the Swiss Medical Association, with clinical experience at Geneva University Hospitals.

Clinical experience and approach

Over several years of practice in Switzerland, she developed a comprehensive and integrated approach to mental health in university hospital, outpatient and home-care settings, working in multidisciplinary teams with people presenting a wide range of clinical needs.

She took responsibility for training resident doctors, coordinating multidisciplinary teams in dementia units, and providing clinical leadership for a day hospital, crisis unit and home-care teams for people over 65.

She also worked as a consultant in Liaison Psychiatry, collaborating with intensive care, inpatient, emergency and continuing-care units while maintaining individual psychotherapy work.

This experience enabled her to develop advanced skills and subspecialise in Old Age Psychiatry and Psychotherapy and Liaison Psychiatry, combining scientific rigour, clinical leadership, multidisciplinary work and person-centred care.
